Marie is an award-winning corporate communication and engagement strategist.
She is someone who embraces change, and intuitively understands how to take other people along for the ride. On that basis, it’s quite fitting that Marie’s worked as a journalist, established one of the first integrated communication and design studios in Western Australia (long before content marketing was considered mainstream) and has excellent business acumen, winning acclaim for her corporate communications and change management strategies.
Her experience is broad and has encompassed industries such as infrastructure (property, water, roads, waste); resources (mining, oil and gas); information technology (software, GIS, ehealth); and community development (health, sustainability, justice, education) over the past three decades.
Marie doesn’t shy away from issues – but she never loses her infectious laugh, regardless of how tough things get.
Based in Brisbane, Marie leads Mills Wilson’s Queensland operations. She is also a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and President of its Queensland branch; and was a founding member of the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) WA. Marie also co-authored a fascinating book which investigated the social impacts of winning a Nobel Prize.
